Privacy policy

The short version

VeraTracer Desktop runs on your machine, contains no telemetry, and is built so that it cannot make outbound network requests. It does not collect your data because it has no way to send it anywhere. This website collects no analytics and sets no tracking cookies. If you email us, we keep the email.

VeraTracer Desktop

What it processes

Whatever files you point it at. Those are read from, and written back to, your own disk. They are not transmitted to NML or to any third party.

What it sends

Nothing. There is no analytics SDK, no crash reporting and no update ping. The application's content security policy permits connections only to a local inter-process bridge, so an outbound request to a remote host is not possible.

What it stores

A settings file and a list of recently opened projects, in your operating system's standard application configuration directory, on your machine. Deleting the application's configuration directory removes them.

This website

Analytics

None. There is no analytics provider, no tag manager, no advertising pixel and no third-party script that observes your visit.

Cookies

The site sets no cookies of its own and does not require a consent banner, because there is nothing to consent to.

Server logs

Our hosting provider records standard request logs, which may include IP address, timestamp, requested path and user agent. These exist for availability and abuse prevention. We do not use them to build a profile of you.

Forms

The launch-notification, contact, sign-in and sign-up forms are currently interface only. They have no backend, so anything typed into them is discarded in your browser and never reaches a server. When they are connected, this page will be updated to describe what is collected and why, before the change ships.

If you email us

We receive your address, your message and anything you attach. We keep it for as long as it takes to deal with your question and to maintain a record of support and security correspondence. We do not add you to a mailing list from a support email.

Sharing

We do not sell personal data and we do not share it for advertising. The only third parties involved are the infrastructure providers who host this website and carry our email. They process data on our instructions.

Your rights

Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete personal data we hold about you, and to object to some processing. Because we hold so little, these requests are usually short conversations. Email hello@veratracer.com and we will respond.

Children

VeraTracer is a professional tool and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16.

Changes

When this policy changes materially — in particular when hosted runs introduce processing that does not exist today — we will update the date at the top and describe what changed rather than replacing the text silently.
